news and events

now and soon...

residencies

Skriduklaustur residency and composer talks in Iceland;

NYC concerts/talks TBA as a 2020-21 Artist Fellow of the National Arts Club;

and last year's lost residencies reappearing on the horizon <3  (Yaddo,  Ragdale,  Visby,  Hambidge)

future pieces

a dream project (stay tuned!) with support from a 2021 New Music USA Creator Development Fund award;

a participatory ritual (ritual opera?) about visionary medicine woman Maria Sabina, big pharma's colonization of indigenous wisdom, and new approaches to body-rooted practice of resistance against that colonization;

and other pieces for beloved performer friends  (The New Consort,  ChamberQUEER,  Sophia Subbayya Vastek,  Laura Strickling)

installations and audio

a three-month sound installation on the island of Gotland, Sweden, thanks to Visby International Composers Centre / ISCM Gotland Section  (as with most of my 2020 travels, I couldn't go but my music could);

audio in experimental animator Simone Hooymans's long-term installation inside Oslo's iconic new main library;

and radio or web broadcasts in the virtual versions of some festivals  (Espacios Sonoros in Argentina, Sisters Akousmatica in Australia, Radiophrenia in Scotland)

community building

helping make new flavors of community-centered ethical music practice, as a founding board member of Organ Colossal;

consulting/volunteering for other organizations, sitting on jury panels, volunteer mentoring, etc.;

continuing (via zoom) with drop-in teaching / guest-composer visits;

and bringing together creative, activist, and sex-radical communities in my forthcoming Amplified series!  Sadly the first intended venue for this series closed permanently in 2020, but I'll find the right homes and forms for this project. <3
